Runner up in the esteemed L’Oréal Professionnel Young Design Talent Award at the recent Central Saint Martins graduate show, Giacomo Cavallari’s clever menswear collection has impressed many. Cavallari has agreed to let Sang Bleu preview his recently shot look book. Vaguely awkward areas of the body have been colour blocked through his sportswear separates in neon PVC’s, however this unusual placement of large rectangular shapes has created an incredibly streamlined selection of garments. The static nature of PVC has been juxtaposed with the softness of denim which escalates the contrasting elements to these garments. The notion of blocking and therefore creating new space was carried through to his carefully sliced and coloured soled Doc Martens. Although Cavallari studied Menswear this collection has also been modelled on women making it more versatile.
