Jurgen Teller’s and Nobuyoshi Araki’s photographic works have met to create this new exhibition opening last night named Araki Teller Teller Araki at the OstLicht Gallery in Vienna. The pairing of these two photographers should bring together an interesting contrast, they are both known for their portrayal of the human body being placed into varying narratives but they both come from completely different backgrounds as photographers.

Araki has presented a variety of his photographs over his extensive career, works on show will include Last by Leica, which was produced using the last analog camera produced by the manufacturer, including a self portrait of Araki following his recent stroke and loss of sight in his right eye. The exhibition will show through these images depictions of a variety of themes which recur in his work such as bondage, urban Japanese settings and women in erotic situations.

In comparison to Araki’s work Teller has accumulated a variety of his work including photographs from his personal and commercial work. Images from his fashion campaigns will sit with portraits of himself and his friends.

Both known for their passion for creating substantial publications of their work they have joined together for this exhibition to make a special catalogue of their work which will be able to purchase at the exhibition.
